Patty-Cake (the last chapter)
(The Two Peters)
I’ve never thought about, much less gone on to write, a horror novel. I think that Patty Cake has been a real challenge for me and challengers are generally a good thing. I had a very hard time deciding how the book would end and, believe it or not, during a fitful night where I would sleep for an hour and then wake up, and sleep for another hour, and then wake up, a single idea popped into my my mind at 3:15. I got out of bed (careful not to wake my wife), slipped into the dining room and started typing the story structure summary that would become the final chapter of Patty Cake.
I am happy with the ending, and I hope you will be too. I want to thank the loyal readers who have followed me through this challenging effort. I think writing for children, as with my OZ book, comes more naturally for me, but after writing Patty Cake I have great respect for all those great horror writers, like Sean McDonnell (whose last name I had to use for my adult Peter) out there and right here on substack.
Love you all,
Sandy

The torment of finding an ending. Shall keep an eye out for it. Happy you're following your heart and writing in the world (and/or genre) that makes you most happy.
